They were successful in creating a very mindful experience using technology which is no mean feat!&#8221;<\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<div class=\"course-outline-section\">\n<h3 class=\"text-blue font-500\">Build a sustainable model in your school by training staff to lead colleagues in adult mindfulness \u2018in-house\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>The most affordable longer-term path to embed mindfulness in your school or chain of schools is to train up one or more of your staff as \u2018mindfulness leads\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">School Mindfulness Lead<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0training is intended to help school staff to develop a more sustainable, in-house model for mindfulness training and development. The course prepares <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span><span style=\"color: #274368;\">b,<\/span><\/strong> <strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">Paws b,<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">dots <\/span><\/strong>and <strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">The Present <\/span><\/strong>teachers to lead the <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span><span style=\"color: #274368;\">b Foundations<\/span><\/strong> taster session and 8-session <a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/b-foundations\/\">curriculum<\/a>, but also to become a \u2018mindfulness lead\u2019 within the school or educational organisation where they are employed.<\/p>\n<p>The curriculum draws upon a number of influences:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>MBSR &amp; MBCT<\/li>\n<li>The \u2018Finding Peace in a Frantic World\u2019 Course<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/teach-dot-b\/dot-b-curriculum\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\"><span style=\"color: #f0041d;\">.<\/span>b<\/span><\/strong> (age 11-18)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/teach-paws-b\/paws-b-curriculum\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">Paws b<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0(age 7-11)<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Original ideas from the development team<\/li>\n<li>Mindfulness in Schools Project\u2019s experience as teachers and school leaders\u2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">PLEASE NOTE<\/span>: This course does not train you to teach others to deliver the <a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/teach-dot-b\/dot-b-curriculum\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\"><span style=\"color: #f0041d;\">.<\/span>b<\/span><\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/teach-paws-b\/paws-b-curriculum\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">Paws b<\/span><\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/teach-dots-3-6\/dots-curriculum-ages-3-6\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">dots<\/span><\/strong><\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/teach-the-present\/curriculum\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">The Present<\/span><\/strong><\/a> curricula.<\/p>\n<p>If you are already a qualified adult mindfulness teacher then this course is not appropriate for you. Please do take a look at our 3-day <a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/teach-b-foundations\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\"> Teach .b Foundations<\/span><\/strong><\/a> instead.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">School Mindfulness Lead<\/span><\/strong> course therefore feels more like a mindfulness retreat than a traditional teacher training course: the course is residential, and days are full and long, with attendees taking part in extended periods of guided and non-guided mindfulness practices.<\/p>\n<p>As with any mindfulness course or retreat, it may not therefore be for everyone. In particular, if you have recently experienced trauma or bereavement, or severe physical or mental illness, you should consult with your GP or other medical adviser before undertaking this, or any form of mindfulness training or practice.<\/p>\n<p>If you wish to discuss any questions you might have about the <strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">School Mindfulness Lead<\/span><\/strong> course, please contact <a href=\"mailto:enquiries@mindfulnessinschools.org\">enquiries@mindfulnessinschools.org<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"course-outline-section-title\">Why train \u2018in-house\u2019?<\/h2>\n<p>Whilst you need outside expertise initially to kick start mindfulness, an in-house \u2018mindfulness lead\u2019 plays an important role in embedding it for the longer term by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Running 8 week-courses<\/strong> and drop-in sessions for staff on an on-going basis.<\/li>\n<li>Developing <strong>a depth of personal understanding<\/strong> to guide and orient your school\u2019s mindful culture.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tailoring the teaching and practice<\/strong> of mindfulness to your school\u2019s own unique needs. Every school is different.<\/li>\n<li>Doing the above in a way which is <strong>affordable and sustainable.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"course-outline-section-title\">What does the School Mindfulness Lead training involve?<\/h2>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">School Mindfulness Lead<\/span><\/strong> is a programme run over 6 days (spread across 12 days if Online) developing the skills needed to lead a sustainable approach to mindfulness in schools. The training involves:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An extensive specialist training to teach <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span><span style=\"color: #274368;\">b Foundations<\/span><\/strong>, a schools-based adult mindfulness curriculum designed to support the mental health and wellbeing of staff, parents and other adults in your school community.<\/li>\n<li>A retreat-based programme to support you in deepening your own mindfulness practice.<\/li>\n<li>An opportunity to develop a sustainable model of mindfulness within you school, planning systems of support for students and adults practising mindfulness in your school community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the end of the course, participants will receive six-months free membership to <a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/join-the-hub\/\">The Hub<\/a> where they can access all the materials needed to start teaching the lessons.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">School Mindfulness Lead<\/span><\/strong> Training forms part of a broader pathway of development. We believe that this is in the interests of all those teaching mindfulness and the adults and young people learning it.<\/p>\n<p>You will be eligible to attend the <strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">School Mindfulness Lead<\/span><\/strong> Training if you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have trained to <strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">Teach<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span><span style=\"color: #274368;\">b, <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">Paws b, <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\"><strong style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #274368;\">dots <\/span><\/strong>or<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">\u00a0The Present<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Have delivered <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span><span style=\"color: #274368;\">b<\/span><\/strong>, <strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">Paws b <\/span><\/strong>and\/or <strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">\u00a0The Present<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0at least twice <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">in full<\/span> to pupils in school.\u00a0 Or have delivered a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">full<\/span> <strong><span style=\"color: #274368;\">dots<\/span><\/strong> course once<\/li>\n<li>Are employed by, or in long term relationship with, the school community in which <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span><span style=\"color: #274368;\">b Foundations<\/span><\/strong> will be taught to adults.<\/li>\n<li>Have a commitment to regularly be \u2018on the ground\u2019 in and communicate with the school(s) as part of your lead role in helping develop a long-term, sustainable mindfulness model for the school(s).*<\/li>\n<li>In order to support yourself as a mindfulness lead, as well as the groups of staff you will be working with, we recommend that you commit to adherence to the <a href=\"https:\/\/bamba.org.uk\/good-practice-guidelines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UK Good Practice Guidelines<\/a> for mindfulness teaching.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"course-outline-section-title\">What does the School Mindfulness Lead training not cover?<\/h2>\n<p><strong class=\"text-500\">Please note:<\/strong> This training course does <u>not<\/u> cover:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Training to teach adults as part of public or other programmes outside your own school or workplace. <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span><span style=\"color: #274368;\">b Foundations<\/span><\/strong> is designed specifically for use in school communities.
