6 year-olds),\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/teach-paws-b\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Paws b<\/strong> curriculum<\/a> (for 7 \u2013 11 year-olds),\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/teach-dot-b\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>.b<\/strong> curriculum<\/a> (for 11 \u2013 18 year-olds), or <a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/teach-the-present\/\">The Present curriculum<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you apply for your <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span><span style=\"color: #274368;\">begin<\/span><\/strong> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0course you can use the same application form to apply for a <\/span><b>Train to Teach<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> course. <\/span><b><i>Just make sure the Train to Teach course you select starts after your .begin course has finished e.g. If your .begin course ends in November you can apply for a Train to Teach course that starts in January.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>MiSP is accredited as a CPD provider by the CPD Standards Office, and <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span><span style=\"color: #274368;\">begin<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0has been rigorously assessed as providing 13 hours of CPD.<\/p>\n<h3>Read <a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/participant-feedback-begin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">feedback and testimonials<b> <\/b><\/a>from previous course participants.<\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"course-outline-section-title\">What are the prerequisites?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Applicants must:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>You are eligible to apply if you would like to take the course to support your own wellbeing even if you do not work in an educational setting or do not have a child in education. You are eligible to apply if you are employed by a school or work within an educational setting on a regular basis (and may receive a subsidised place if your setting is eligible) <em>or<\/em> be the parent or carer of a child still in education. Please note School Governors and those who volunteer regularly in a school (including parent volunteers) are also eligible to apply. <strong>If you are unsure whether you are eligible please email <a href=\"mailto:enquiries@mindfulnessinschools.org\">enquiries@mindfulnessinschools.org<\/a>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Be over 18 years of age<\/li>\n<li>Be able to commit to the dates and times of the online sessions<\/li>\n<li>Have access to a computer or laptop with a webcam and have a good broadband speed capable of running Zoom, <a href=\"https:\/\/support.zoom.us\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/201362023-System-Requirements-for-PC-Mac-and-Linux\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">click here<\/a> to check technical requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Understand that this course is not intended as a therapeutic intervention. A member of the MiSP team may contact you to discuss your application and ensure this is the right time for you to be doing the course.<\/li>\n<li>Whilst<strong> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span><span style=\"color: #274368;\">begin<\/span><\/strong> is designed for participants who have\u00a0not\u00a0previously taken part in an eight-week secular mindfulness training course, applicants who have already done an 8-week course and wish to take <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span><span style=\"color: #274368;\">begin <\/span><\/strong>as a refresher are still very welcome.<\/li>\n<li>Understand that <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span><span style=\"color: #274368;\">begin<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0does <strong><u>not<\/u><\/strong> involve training to teach mindfulness to young people or adults. It is an introduction to mindfulness for the purpose of supporting participants in terms of their own understanding of mindfulness and general wellbeing.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>As an <strong>online course<\/strong>, it is crucial that participants attend the training &#8230;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>&#8230; in a quiet space where they will not be interrupted<\/li>\n<li>&#8230; having checked all technology is working to a quality that allows for full engagement with the taught course. This will include attendance on a pre-course Zoom orientation and checking session.<br \/>\n<strong>NB: Participants are expected to keep webcams on during the course.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>&#8230; away from any distractions, and fully committed to engaging in all taught sessions and activities<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Applicants from outside of the UK must: <\/strong>Meet the above prerequisites and be able to speak and understand English to an <a href=\"https:\/\/learnenglish.britishcouncil.org\/english-levels\/understand-your-english-level\/b2-upper-intermediate\">Upper Intermediate Level<\/a>, ie be able to interact fluently with native speakers, communicate effectively and understand everyday language.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"course-outline-section-title\">How much does <strong>.begin<\/strong> cost?<\/h2>\n<p>A supported place on a <strong>.begin<\/strong> course will be automatically offered to all those working or volunteering regularly in a state-funded school in the UK, the cost is <strong>\u00a3175<\/strong> per person.\u00a0If you work for a local education authority or charity you may also be eligible for a supported place on a <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span><span style=\"color: #274368;\">begin<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0course, please click\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/supported-places\/\">here<\/a> to read the Terms and Conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Otherwise, the price is\u00a0<strong>\u00a3225<\/strong>\u00a0per person.<\/p>\n<p>Discounts for group bookings may be available.
