After 9 sessions, those in the intervention group showed significant improvements in stress reduction, wellbeing, mindfulness, and self-compassion compared to the control group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Self-compassion measures included lower self-judgment and increased self-kindness.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>What MiSP learned<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.b Foundations is effective in improving teachers\u2019 wellbeing, including stress, mindfulness and self-compassion.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MiSP continues to require that all teachers learn mindfulness themselves and continue to practice regularly before teaching it to children and young people.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The study has increased confidence in the value of mindfulness for teacher and school staff wellbeing.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/the-evidence-base\/\">Discover more about the outcomes of mindfulness in education<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A non-randomised feasibility trial assessing the efficacy of a mindfulness-based intervention for teachers to reduce stress and improve well-being Authors: Beshai, S., McAlpine, L., Weare, K., and Kuyken, W.
