These ideas are just a suggested starting point and if other ways of developing mindfulness would work better for your setting, please do that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want to keep a record of how you are developing mindfulness in your setting\/school, you could build a\u00a0<\/span><b>MiSP<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Pathways-Step-3-Portfolio-Information.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">portfolio<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0(optional) and you might collect evidence of these suggested activities or a record of your own ideas. A completed\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">portfolio<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0will be needed to apply for Step 5 of the Pathways.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"collapsible-heading\"><a><span class=\"collapsible-before\"><\/span><span class=\"collapsible-text\">Suggested Activities<\/span><\/a><\/h3><div class=\"collapsible-content\" style=\"display: none;\"><div class=\"collapsed-content\">\n<p><strong>Suggested actions\/activities could include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Student focused:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At least one staff member is trained to deliver either <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/teach-dots-3-6\/dots-curriculum-ages-3-6\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dots<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\/<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/teach-paws-b\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paws b<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\/<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/teach-the-present\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Present<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/teach-dot-b\/dot-b-curriculum\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.b<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> curriculum<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dots\/Paws b\/The Present or .b is being taught as part of regular curriculum time, e.g. as part of a carousel of subjects within a year group, OR as part of PSHE, OR integrated within a curriculum area (explore how the MiSP curricula maps to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/train\/mapping-our-curricula\/pshe\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PSHE<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and\/or the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/train\/mapping-our-curricula\/curriculum-for-wales\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Curriculum for Wales<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), OR in form time\/registration, OR as a formal after-school programme of learning e.g enrichment time<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If an external dots\/Paws b\/The Present or. b teacher introduces the students to mindfulness, an established and ongoing commitment to this relationship has been agreed, with an ongoing rolling programme planned<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Weekly drop-in student mindfulness club offered, to support ongoing student practice development<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once an experienced individual or group of regular attendees forms, as part of the mindfulness club, a second stage\/phase of this could involve an individual or group becoming Mindfulness Leaders in the school<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mindfulness invitations\/suggestions are offered regularly to students and staff to encourage practice \u2013 through form time or start of the day, at least once a week (could be in the daily bulletin or other information-sharing mechanism with year groups or whole school)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attend a\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulnessinschools.org\/schools-sit-together\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MiSP School Sit Together<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0with students, to connect with wider community of mindfulness practitioners<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deliver a school assembly about mindfulness, presented by teachers and students, depending on experience<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students who are interested\/enthusiastic about mindfulness encouraged to share about their practice at public events \u2013 school open evenings, governors&#8217; meetings etc<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mindfulness lead request a regular slot in the school newsletter and ask students who are happy to share to write a blog\/article for school newsletter or create a vlog about their practice<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Consider other ways to share with the school community about the mindfulness approaches offered at the school via student\u2019s stories &#8211; <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">promote it on your Facebook and Instagram channels for example (within agreed school\u2019s permissions policy)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Staff\/whole school approach focused:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A member or members of SLT (Senior Leadership Team) are openly backing mindfulness-based initiatives within the school<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ways in which a mindfulness approach can support the wellbeing offer in the school for staff and students is explored further, ie writing it into the school wellbeing policy, for example<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Designated staff member for mindfulness deepens personal understanding by attending at least 3 Pathways Support sessions through the academic year<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mindfulness training continues to be offered to all school staff with a view to involving the teachers\/staff in the school as role-models and skilled guides<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With agreement from SLT, designated staff member for mindfulness guides short practices at start of staff meetings (and potentially other meetings if other staff agreeable)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mindfulness lead ensure they have a slot on the NQT\/ECT\/New staff members INSET offered by setting, to share about mindfulness training and the approach and to signpost to training for those interested<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Staff and students have regular practice sessions \u2013 separately or together (eg: a shorter drop-in practice slot at lunchtime for students and staff and\/or a longer practice slot for staff before or after school once per week)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The designated staff member for mindfulness begins to develop a way of showing the school\u2019s journey towards offering a mindfulness approach through a blog, vlog, gathering student and staff stories about the impact of a mindfulness approach in the setting<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"collapsible-heading\"><a><span class=\"collapsible-before\"><\/span><span class=\"collapsible-text\">Supporting Resources &amp;
