The Pathways Framework for Mindfulness in Schools
Looking to introduce mindfulness in education? The Pathways Framework by Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) is a proven roadmap for schools and individuals to build sustainable mindfulness programs that improve student and staff wellbeing, and overall school culture.
Why Choose the Pathways framework?
- Practical steps and resources for implementing mindfulness
- Recognition and awards for progress
- Based on real experience and expertise in education since 2009
The five developmental steps
The Pathways framework is built upon five developmental ‘steps’ (for an individual or organisation):
- Explore – Learn how mindfulness might fit in your school
- Introduce – Start with staff training or bring in MiSP-certified teachers to teach students
- Develop – Train staff to teach mindfulness to students and create a support network
- Embed – Integrate mindfulness into daily routines and school life, alongside training a member of staff to deliver mindfulness to adults
- Sustain & Share – Make it a long-lasting approach and inspire other settings in your area, sharing good practice as a MiSP Beacon Setting or Organisation
